The Wayne Highlands Education Association (WHEA) is seeking nominees its annual WHEA Friend of Education Award, with the recipient to be honored at the WHEA Retirement and Recognition Dinner scheduled for May 31, 2019 at The Central House in Beech Lake.

The WHEA established this annual Friend of Education Award to recognize outstanding individuals, groups of individuals, and/or organizations for their significant contributions to the betterment of education in the Wayne Highlands School District.  Education includes both academic and extracurricular activities.

The award may be conferred upon a person(s) and/or organization in the political, civic, business, or education communities.  “There are so many people who are doing so much for the cause of education in our community, it’s only fitting that we recognize one recipient each year for the work they do for our kids in our school district”, said former WHEA President Todd D. Miller.  Nominators must complete the WHEA Friend of Education Nomination Form in full, including specific reasons why the nominee should receive the award.   Nomination forms are available on the WHEA website at whea.psealocals.org and by mail if requested of Mrs. Israel, WHEA President,  at Lakeside School by calling (570) 253-6820.  Nominations are due by March 31.
